Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, you can.

Or you can fill out our sample form, and we will order the samples from Material Bank for overnight delivery.
-
We produce digital wallcoverings on-demand for your project using large-format digital printing, not in large runs like traditional screen printing or rotogravure. AiNO wallcoverings can reduce waste on large repeats and save your project money by printing pre-cut drops or rolls based on your elevations. We can also customize a pattern's color, scale, or substrate with a 300 SF minimum order to match your project's exact design and specifications. Doing this with traditional wallcoverings would require very large minimum orders and costly custom rollers.
-
There are actually 4 ways you can work with AiNO.
1- Choose from our running line of patterns, sampled on stocked substrates, with a minimum order of 150 SF or 1 15 LY roll, depending on the pattern.
2- Personalize the color, scale, or substrate of a running line pattern with at least 300 SF.
3- Provide print-ready artwork sized to the walls it is going on, either a mural or pattern, requiring minimal set-up for AiNO. Contact your rep for more information on file types, etc.
4- Work with us on fully custom designs to create the perfect pattern for your project. The minimum order is 1,200 SF, and an art fee is added to the SF price of the specification.
-
Yes, we do, but they are small.
For metallics, PVC-free, and some vinyl substrates, we require a 150 SF minimum order.
Our Quick Ship vinyls are printed in 15 linear yard (LY) rolls (195 square feet). Look for the Red “A” triangle or filter “Quick Ship” in the Wallcovering for the options in this category.
Our Blur collection (gradient patterns) has a minimum height of 9 feet 0 inches (H), but we can make it taller as needed.
-
No, we don’t.
With very small minimum order requirements, we don’t have cut fees. Most wallcoverings can be printed in either rolls or pre-cut straight-match drops based on the elevation (+3"). Quick Ship wallcoverings are printed in 15 LY rolls, and we do not offer partial rolls.
-
AiNO makes all wallcoverings in the USA.
-
We are VERY fast.
1-2 weeks to ship vinyl and PVC-free substrates
2-3 weeks to ship metallic substrates
These timeframes may vary for larger quantities.
-
All our materials are Type II and Class A, meeting commercial project performance and fire rating requirements. We stock several substrates, which you can see on our Substrates page.
-
We don't currently have a physical showroom, but we do schedule in-person and virtual presentations. Contact your sales representative to schedule one today.

You can schedule an in-person or virtual appointment with your sales representative. Our website and Material Bank are both kept up to date with all new introductions.
The Basics
-
On-Demand wallcoverings, aka running line patterns, are the patterns x colorway x substrate combinations that we sample on Material Bank. We often sample the patterns on multiple substrates for different aesthetics. We can digitally print them in rolls or pre-cut drops, depending on your project needs. You can customize the color, scale, or substrate for these patterns at 300 SF. There is no added fee to customize existing patterns.
-
Yes. See the similar question above regarding On-Demand wallcoverings.
-
We do not currently offer mural designs. All AiNO patterns are continuous repeats with straight matches. Some of our designs, such as the Blur Collection, may appear like murals but are gradient patterns printed in pre-cut drops and have a minimum height of 9’-0” H.
-
Yes, and these are two separate types of projects.
If you have Print-Ready artwork, defined as either murals or patterns that have been formatted in Adobe Illustrator to fit the installation walls, we are happy to recommend a substrate and produce the material for your project. Print-ready projects have a 300 SF minimum order.
If you have an idea for a custom wallcovering, we can work with you based on your project concept and material palette to create the perfect design. The minimum order is 1,200 SF, and art fees (hourly fees based on the time needed to create the design) are added to the specification. The client must approve the concept before AiNO creates custom artwork.
Additionally, we do not reinterpret other manufacturers’ designs for ethical and copyright reasons.
-
For best print quality, we prefer repeating patterns as 100% scale Adobe Illustrator (.ai) vector files. If they need to be raster images, please supply them at a minimum of 300 ppi at full print size. For large-scale murals, you may supply a vector file or a raster image at a lower ppi (around 150 ppi) at full size. We prefer high-resolution TIFF for raster art and .ai for vector art.

Yes, we do. We offer complimentary custom samples, up to 3 at no charge. If you need more options or copies, contact your sales representative for details on sizes and lead times.

Pricing
-

No, pricing is quote-based and varies by substrate, quantity, and customization.

Once it's approved, we can turn it into an invoice.
Once we receive payment, we'll put your order into production.
-
AiNO requires 100% prepayment before production begins. We use secure ACH or credit card payment links to speed up order processing. Credit card payments have a 3% fee. You can also send a check. Speak with your Operations Coordinator to choose the right payment option for your project.
-
Our Quote form requires the wall dimensions so we can calculate the exact quantity needed for your project, including the minimum overage.
-
All our patterns are designed for straight-match installations and can be produced as pre-cut drops or rolls. Pre-cut drops avoid the waste from matching the pattern repeat. We add 3” to the elevation dimension provided for trimming. We recommend a minimum of 1 drop per 10 for overage. We also want to mention that since it is digitally printed, each print date may vary slightly in color, so printing all overage and attic stock is strongly recommended.
-
We're building a broad network of reps in the US and Canada. Contact us at hello@shopaino.com to find your rep. We don't currently have showrooms, but you can sample all our products on Material Bank.

Quotes & Ordering
Production & Lead Times
-
Our lead times are very fast, but vary slightly by substrate and may extend with large orders:
Matte and Plaster Vinyl: about a week
Terralon Smooth/Regatta, Novalon, Duralon: about a week
Satara Pearl and Glitz: 1-2 weeks
Silver or Gold Flash: 2-3 weeks
-
Production (or turnaround) is the time to print a made-to-order piece before it ships; shipping time is separate and starts once the order leaves production.
-
Our production times are very fast, so there isn't much room to expedite, but if possible, we always try to accommodate project schedules. Expediting shipping usually has a bigger impact, and we are happy to provide expedited shipping costs upon request.
-
Each production run becomes its own dye lot (batch). Material from different print dates becomes different dye lots and can show slight color variation, so order enough from a single batch to complete a project.
-
Contact your sales rep or Operations Coordinator that you worked with on your original order. Have the dimensions of the areas that require material available. We recommend that an entire wall come from the same print date/dye lot.
-
We email tracking information once orders ship.
-
We ship orders via FedEx Ground, and costs are calculated based on weight, dimensions, and shipping address.
-
We do not ship to P.O. boxes.
We require signatures for deliveries to commercial shipping addresses. FedEx does not require signatures for residential shipping addresses.
-
We can ship internationally by providing the purchaser with the weights, dimensions, and pickup location. The purchaser is responsible for coordinating all costs, customs, tariffs, etc. AiNO will inform the purchased when the order is ready to be picked up by their selected shipper.
